Right now, I am working on a short story collection about the intersections between horses, photography, and film. The manuscript is tentatively titled “Shooting A Mule (And Other Stories),” but that’s only because “Beating A Dead Horse” and “One Trick Pony” sound a little too on the nose.

Congrats Jess! My only disappointment is a pop-up ad for Jennifer Aniston’s security tapes that distracted me from my clever horse comment. Fortunately, I did not click on it, but it’s kind of sad.
Listened to “Mule Variations” lately? Sometimes I find motivation in Waits’ “Get Behind the Mule.” This summer, I imbibed some Moscow Mules. Lately, it’s more tequila, salt water, and rusty nails.
